Active scans are the searches running at the same time. Each scan counts, so three weekend scans at one campground use three.
When the trial ends, scanning and cart-holds pause until you choose a plan. Cart-hold and trip import need your reservation account linked; browsing and alerts work without it.
* Actual scan speed may vary by reservation system and network conditions.
Pricing questions
Straight answers. No fine print.
Every account starts with a free 14-day trial — no credit card required. The trial includes cart-hold, 2 active scans, automatic trip import, and email, Telegram and web push alerts, so you can see zenCamp work before you pay. There's no permanent free tier: when the 14 days are up, scanning and cart-holds pause until you choose Camper, Overlander, or Explorer.
When a site you're scanning for opens up, zenCamp holds it in your cart for about 30 minutes so you can complete checkout yourself. It never auto-purchases and never stores your payment information — you finish every booking in the reservation system's normal checkout. Cart-hold is included on every plan, including the trial.
Only how many scans you can run at once, how many reservation accounts you can connect, and how fast we scan — scans get faster on the higher tiers. Everything else is the same on every plan, including the trial: cart-hold, automatic trip import, your trip journal, and email, Telegram and web push alerts.
How many run at once. The “active scans” number on each plan caps how many can be running at the same time — it isn't a lifetime total, and it counts scans rather than campgrounds, so several weekends at one campground use several of them. Pause, archive, or delete a scan and its slot opens up right away, so you can swap campgrounds, dates, and site types as your plans change. A scan that's holding a site in your cart, or that has stopped with an error, still counts until you archive it.
zenCamp scans for cancellations up to every 15 seconds across the largest reservation systems, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week — and the higher tiers scan fastest. But scan frequency matters less than what happens when a site opens up: on supported systems zenCamp holds the site in your cart, giving you about 30 minutes to check out at your own pace. Other platforms that don't offer cart-hold can only alert you — and then it's a race to log in and grab the site before someone else does.
Per month, or per year for about 17% off. Flat rate either way — we don't take a cut of your booking or charge per reservation. You pay the campground directly through their normal booking system; zenCamp just gets the site into your cart.
Yes, always. No lock-in, no cancellation fee. If you cancel, you keep access through the end of your billing period.
